A New Disc Golf Brand Rises from the Ashes
Three years ago, a new disc golf brand emerged. That alone isn’t unusual — new companies have been appearing regularly for years.
But what made this one stand out was its theme: Doomsday Discs focuses on (and celebrates) the end of the world.
The brand’s fitting name is just the beginning. Every mold and plastic type carries a name and vibe tied to its apocalyptic theme.
One of their high-speed drivers is even called the Apocalypse.

Team Doomsday
Like most brands, Doomsday Discs has a team, but theirs operates differently. Instead of traditional sponsorships or financial rewards,
Team Doomsday members help shape the brand’s identity. They suggest names for molds and plastics,
many of which are creative, clever, and darkly humorous. This keeps the apocalyptic theme alive and authentic.
Doing Things Differently
The first Doomsday Disc approved by the PDGA was the Plague. Since then, the company has steadily released new molds
and developed unique plastics. Beyond its standard lineup, Doomsday embraces the unusual, the odd, and the downright weird. Here are their non-standard molds:

Oxymoron
Possibly the most unusual disc on Earth, the Oxymoron features a square top with a round rim.
It’s not PDGA approved, but it’s a blast to throw. It even has a fifth flight number!
Doomsday lists its flight as Speed 7 / Glide 1 / Lift 3 / Turn -2 / Fade 2.
When thrown flat, it actually climbs into the air. It sold out quickly once word spread about its unique design.
WMD (Weapon of Max Distance)
As the name suggests, the WMD is built for power. With a massive rim and a weight that exceeds PDGA limits,
it’s not tournament legal. However, its slight understability delivers surprisingly long flights.
This weapon is best reserved for casual rounds.
Bunker Buster
The Bunker Buster (or BB) is an oversized speed-seven disc with the diameter of a Condor or Zephyr.
It’s overstable, built to handle powerful throws, and feels like it could punch through a headwind… or a wall.
Monstrosity
True to its name, the Monstrosity has a rim that alternates between wide and narrow sections,
creating a bizarre, uneven shape. Despite its odd design, it’s PDGA approved. It may not have published flight numbers,
but it’s sure to turn heads in any bag.
Solar Death Ray
The Solar Death Ray features raised, ridge-like rings across its flight plate,
giving it a futuristic, alien texture. Whether or not the pattern changes your grip,
it’s guaranteed to start a conversation when you pull it from your bag.

Quality Beyond the Gimmicks
While Doomsday is known for its creativity, they also make serious discs that perform exceptionally well.
Popular molds like the Chemtrail and Blackout have become fan favorites for their consistency and feel.
Both are excellent control drivers that can easily earn a permanent spot in your bag.
I own both molds and love throwing them. They prove that Doomsday Discs isn’t just about novelty,
it’s about creating quality, high-performing discs with personality.

A Secretive Headquarters
Doomsday keeps its origins mysterious. The company’s headquarters, founders, and main manufacturer are all intentionally undisclosed.
By working with several production partners, they’ve decentralized their operations.
If a local disaster (or the apocalypse itself) strikes, production can continue elsewhere.
It’s a fitting business model for a brand built on survival.

Why Disc Golfers Love Doomsday Discs
Doomsday Discs has built a loyal following by blending creativity, mystery, and fun.
Whether you’re drawn to the rebellious spirit, the hidden origins, or the sheer joy of throwing something different,
this brand offers a refreshing take on disc golf.
So when the end finally comes and the world begins to crumble, you’ll know what to do:
grab your bag, head to the nearest fairway, and go down throwing.
