Does it live up to its name as the 2017 Ace Race disc? It feels comfortable in hand and easy to grip for most disc golf players.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 1.80 cm height gives the Sting a low-profile design, allowing you to have a firm grip and control over the disc, especially when making precision throws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The rim depth of 1.20 cm is the route to the disc&#8217;s forgiving nature, making it easier to release smoothly. It&#8217;s deep enough to get a good grip but not too deep to hinder a clean release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The rim width of 1.60 cm hits that sweet spot between speed and control, meaning the Sting offers a balanced and well-rounded performance in both aspects. It&#8217;s a nice width for giving power throwers enough control and providing slower-paced throwers with decent speed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Compared to similar discs, the Sting offers a balanced hand feel. Its exceptional control makes it a solid option for intricate shot shaping, tunnel shots, and reliable, precise throws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I would, however, caution power players or disc golfers with high arm speeds. The Discraft Sting tends to lean heavily towards a sharper rightward path when thrown with too much power. While this extreme turn could be helpful for specific shots, it does limit the disc&#8217;s appeal to these players as an all-round driver. It&#8217;s adept at following the anhyzer line and extending its glide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rollers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Sting&#8217;s understable nature and forgiving rim depth make it a reliable option for backhand rollers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Alternative Fairway Drivers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Innova Leopard<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Sting is often compared to the Leopard from Innova. Both discs share similar features\u2014moderate speed, understability, and long glide. They each excel in controlled shots, emphasizing right turns (for RHBH players). However, the Sting arguably offers a slightly more pronounced turn and glide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Axiom Rhythm<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Axiom Rhythm and Sting share a similar flight profile, designed for understable flights requiring less power. While I have not tested the Rhythm, from fellow disc golfer&#8217;s experiences, it appears to be a bit faster than the Sting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">DGA Vortex<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The DGA Vortex, a prominent part of the Catrina Allen lineup, shares similar attributes to the Sting with its moderate Speed 7 and easy control. It is reputed for excellent glide and an ideal degree of turn, making it an appealing choice for both new and seasoned players.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Discraft Sting In Review<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Discraft Sting is a fantastic disc for players seeking to enrich their skill sets and perfect different throwing techniques. New disc golf players and those with a slower arm speed will find the Sting particularly helpful in their arsenal.
